My Living Desktop has a feature that enables the software to manually or automatically check the Amuse website for updates, newly added Scenes, and Scenes you may have purchased. You may turn off this automatic feature via the System Preferences control panel for My Living Desktop. Please note that if you turn this feature off, you will not automatically have access to Amuse software updates. When on, and the software checks for updates or Scenes (roughly once a week), or when manually checking, the registration number assigned to you is sent with an industry standard UUID. Amuse logs this information into an Amuse database. The registration number itself does not contain any personally identifying information.

Amuse does not knowingly collect information from persons under the age of 13. If Amuse determines that information of a person under the age of 13 has been collected by Amuse, it shall delete such information as soon as practicable.

The Amuse website may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy is applicable only to the collection and use of your information by Amuse and its affiliates, and Amuse is not responsible for the privacy practices of the owners of such linked third-party websites.

5. Technologies Used To Collect Information
Amuse can collect and store information retrieved through cookies, log files, and clear gifs to create a profile of our users in the aggregate. Nothing identifying any one particular user is ever recorded.

Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your computer tied to information about you. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once you close your browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on your hard drive for an extended period of time. Review your browser’s Help section for instructions on how to remove persistent cookies. More information regarding cookies can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_cookie.

Log Files
Like most standard website servers, our web hosting company collects certain information and stores it in log files. The information collected includes your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks. We use this information in the aggregate to analyze trends, administer our website, track user’s movements through our website, and gather broad demographic information about our user base. We may also use this information as part of Amuse's fraud prevention efforts.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
We may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) which are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between cookies and clear gifs is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We use clear gifs to improve our website, making your experience with it more effective.

6. Contact Us
